ShootaT
My name is Taia Norwood also known as ShootaT; a female photographer based out of Fort Worth and Houston, Texas. Photography has always been a passion of mine since I was little, my parents always used to buy me those little disposable cameras to take pictures with & my appreciation for the art has grown ever since. There are many people who have influenced & inspired me in the photography community but the one person who inspires me the most would have to be Nailah Howze aka Cloudnaiii as I've watched her progression through the years, she has always remained humble, and her grind is unmatched. Not only are her photos dope, but she always brings something new to the table with each shoot.
Photography isn't just a hobby for me, it's a part of my lifestyle that I plan to continue doing for a long time. I hope to continue to grow & expand my brand to eventually open up my own photography studio in the future. Portrait, Lifestyle, Concert, and Architectural photography are my main go to's because I can add in my own flavor to them. I'll say one of the wildest shoots I did was when I took pictures of NBA Youngboy at Spire Nightclub in Houston, after a fight and constantly being pushed I managed to pull out dope pictures of the artist. The thing about me is I love to have fun while shooting, meaning I make it a goal for my clients to leave knowing the shoot was a success.
Dj Fresh
- What single night has been the most memorable for you as a Dj? And as a party Attendee?
- A night that has been the most memorable for me would probably be either the Nike party I DJ'd in the fall, or this New Years Eve House Party I did last year. Both of those parties were successful and seeing the crowds reaction to everything I was playing was crazy.
- What is one mistake you see a lot of up and coming Djs making?
- It's hard to pinpoint what's a bad habit a lot of up & coming DJ's make because I'm still an up & coming DJ myself. But one thing I can say is get over your nervousness and be confident in what you play. Be mindful of of your audience & try to see what songs they vibe to, but at the same time don't compromise your creativity because you're scared no one will like the song you're playing.
- If you could be stuck in one years music scene, which year would it be?
- If I could be stuck in one era of music it would probably be the 2010-2015 little pocket. That was the early internet & soundcloud wave before everybody hopped on the trend.
- What is one sub genre you think that doesn't get the attention it deserves?
- I don't think there any sub genres that don't receive enough credit. I believe in today's climate of music there are so many different types of artists and sounds that everyone is getting their just due. It ultimately boils down to what the listener is looking for.
- What is something that upsets you on the Dj scene?
- One thing that upsets me about the DJ scene is that a lot of DJs don't take the craft seriously or don't try to stand out. It's like there is a set playlist that a lot of DJs follow just to play it safe. As a kid listening to mixes was fun because it was cool to hear new shit being played and getting put on to different vibes. Now that I DJ myself I notice the comfort zone DJs like to stay in and I low-key get annoyed as hell by it.
- What is one song that never gets old to you no matter how many times you hear it?
- One song that never gets old for me is Runaway by Kanye
- What is one song you have to play at every party?
- A song I have to play at every party is The Race or Gang Gang
- Do you use your platform to support underground music?
- Hell yeah I use my platform to support the underground, honestly I feel like I'm the only DJ on campus who will play some underground shit that I know the student body will rock with.
- If you had to dj for free would you and why?
- If I had to DJ for free I would. It just depends on what else I can gain besides money for doing the event for free. If provides more exposure to different clients and fans then hell yeah I'll do it for free
Art In Konnection With
Trigga The Tatt-Man
Rahim " Trigga" Dandrige, tattoo artist out from the South side of Chicago has been tattooing since the tender age of fourteen; his first client being his older sister. Growing up in the slums of Chicago and moving around frequently, Trigga turned to football and drawing as a way to escape his surroundings. In 2016 after tattooing most of his body, Trigga began to tattoo other people. All while being mentored by two of Houston's greatest underground black, and white artist. Now in 2018 Trigga has made his way inside of a tattoo shop based out of New Orleans and has developed a rather nice and diverse portfolio.

Billy Santana

So My name is Billy Santana, the name comes with the camera. Two things inspired me to become a Photographer, the first thing isn't really a thing, it's a person, Aj Bada$$. The way he brings his imagination, and vision to life through the pictures he takes, I love it.
Alongside, the artists' pictures hold so much memory, and memories are one of a kind. Photography is a hobby right now, but I want to photograph for big clothing brands to where I can meet open minded people like me. To create and exchange ideas that nobody else thinks about.
